Objective: To examine individual and contextual vulnerability factors at school entry among the children of HIV+ mothers in the San Francisco Bay Area

Background: There are nearly 100,000 HIV+ women of childbearing age in the U.S. During the past five years, a precipitous drop in the rate of perinatal transmission has increased the number of uninfected children born to HIV+ mothers.
